My Birthday Treat to You!
Since it's my Birthday today I shouldn't really even be online (go get a life!) but I'm going up to the Manchester Warehouse Project tonight and staying up north for the weekend, so won't be in any state to be blogging for a while. I thought I would treat you all to the 'Best Of' this week's internet findings. There is a little something for everyone here, different genres etc. I'm going outside to find my life now...enjoy!

Foreign Beggars
Neurosonics Audiomedical Labs Inc. from Chris Cairns on Vimeo.
Gotta appreciate all the big names involved in the making of this... Foreign Beggars, Scratch Perverts, Schlomo etc. I think I love the original of the below linked song more, but in a club it's the less lyrically influenced grind of the Noisia Remix that will really get people hyped up and 'godfathering'. I'm calling it now, this song is gonna be a big one.
Quick definition break HERE 'Godfathering' is what I call the angry face people pull when dancing to dubstep and DnB. Not taking the piss cos I definitely do it myself, just wonder why people look at me like I'm a dick when I dance with a big smile on my face. If you don't believe me, are you telling me you haven't seen people dancing next to you like this?
Liars if you haven't! Anyways, I'm going off on a personal tangent here. You don't give a shit...enjoy the MUSIC!

BURNs
Burns, the electro technician, is coming to Matter in London on Friday (hell yes I'm going to be there!). His Teknique EP is the third installment in his 4 EP series. The EP delivers the type of disjointed dance music that made groups like Justice and Vitalic blog heroes. The EP delivers three brand new tracks and two remixes. The first track "Teknique" will get your toes tapping (do people even still do that?). But for me it's the other 2 which really show off this guy's abilities. While it has some repetitive elements, the tracks have the type of evolution that made Fatboy Slim so popular in the 90s. All the tracks employ his funky stuttering style of start/stop electro house rhythms. Maybe not as good as the oh so stellar 'Heartbeats' which after being my ringtone for a LONG time was still not boring, but nevertheless great music.

High Rankin
Dubsteppa!!!
High Rankin is a genius when it comes to heavy-hitting dubstep. He says his influences include carbonated water and phosphoric acid and describes his own music brand as “The monkey noise that you make when you get into a very hot bath. The noise when you gasp for breath when you are halfway through being sick”. Whatever he says, I suggest getting all of his stuff possible (it's all good! - love his Sin City track). It's not your everyday dub either, I'm getting pretty pissed with people releasing any old bassy tuneless shite and calling it amazing dubstep. This is classy music whilst maintaining the filth that we've come to love so much.

Mustard Pimp
December 1st is going to bring some genius new collaborative work from Mustard Pimp and Blatta & Inesha, two acts that have been near the hilt of overly great exposure and praise. Mustard Pimp have already done almost 30 mixtapes in the last year and with news that they've just got on the line to do edits for South Rakkas Crew and Eagles Of Death Metal meaning KE-razily big stuff for them in the future I'm sure. They seriously need to come to England more often. Mustard Pimp remixed Dada Life’s “Lets Get Bleeped Tonight” and the added progression of electronic notes creates a much more melodic result.
Dada Life - Let`s Get Bleeped Tonight (Mustard Pimp Remix)
Mustard Pimp feat. A Girl A Gun - Beetle Gum
Steed Lord - Take My Hand (Mustard Pimp Remix)
Larry Tee - Let's Get Nasty (Mustard Pimp Remix)

Bonus, touring partner Tiesto has remixed Dada Life's hit and although incorporating many standard Tiesto touches it has elements that I never thought would come from the trance legend! Good stuff, your decision on which remix is better.

Tomb Crew
Tomb Crew remind me of my Nottingham University days playing on every worthwhile night and never failed to impress then, let alone now. They are gaining some huge attention these days with both their dubstep and B-more tracks. Check out their own blog here for some more. They have absolutely smashed it with the Crookers remix, adding so much more to the original, turning mediocrity into bassy bliss...enjoy!
Crookers - No Security feat. Kelis (Tomb Crew Remix)
Tomb Crew - Bigger Than
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Bournemouth (Tomb Crew Remix)
Enjoy these two cheesier ones on offer, especially the christmas one. It's a bit of a late post being over a year old on that one but then, since when did Christmas songs go out of fashion?

BULiMiATRON
BUL!M!ATRON! respresents Los Angeles with his unique name, dj style, production, and fashion sense as one of the most successful self made artists of the area. He is pretty much booked every other day in LA and frequently gets guest bookings around the US. He plays a diverse selection of tracks from all genres of dance music and has no boundaries. The Figure remix has beautiful chopped up vocals that are perfect for the dancefloor. But the dub, handclaps and the 90’s piano touches he throws in to his tracks all meld together to form what I know as the essence of fidget house. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether he is a strong enough contender on the wonky hall of fame or not.

Dada Life
Dada Life is the brainchild of Stockholm-based Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom. They are currently touring the US with Tiësto) and today we have on offer a handclap filled electro bomb of their remix of new Maskinen single “Dansa Med Vapen”. Dada Life’s music is adored by both an eclectic mix of DJ talent – including David Guetta, Tiësto, Eric Prydz, Altern 8, Crookers and Don Rimini – and some of the most discerning underground tastemakers in the world. Their remix of Alex Gopher's 'Handguns' has caused me many near miss accidents whilst driving because of all the inappropriate air drumming. I love them and you will love them. I also highly recommending the purchase of their full length "Just Do the Dada". QUALITY ALBUM. They don’t care about genres. They don’t care about smartness. They don’t care about the things you care about. Dada Life just wants to make you jump up and down. Then make you crash into a wall with a smile on your face.

Bonus, I know this is a Wonderwall remix and that's sure as hell what it is, but for the pessimists amongst you...give it a try! I was very surprised with how much I actually liked this. Strong production and crisp synths with a whole load of catchy guitar riffage on top.

Felguk
Jesus where did these guys spring out from? Amazing electro is back! Sorry about the lack of wonkyness (you know who you are...pedantic fuck! ha!) but this is worth it. Very deadmau5-esque inspired but who the hell is going to complain about that? Arena sized tranced out progressive breaky electro, lots of pretty sounds rolled into one. Well Gustavo Rozenthal and Felipe Lozinsky of Felguk just happen to have what we all crave with some new tracks...

Treat 2
I'm not gonna lie, I've been trawling through the internet recently and finding songs that are brilliant, don't get me wrong, but I feel as though I've been missing something. i just have been finding anything that has perked me up and dance like an utter tit around my room. Today, however, I found something that has fully reignited my love! My happiness probably linked to my recent jobless slump and then actually getting a short term placement but fuck it. It means you get to benefit off of my internet-researching back. This song has only been released on beatport but comes out for general release soon which I will DEFINITELY post as soon as I have it, but for now enjoy this video.

A Treat
I couldn't be bothered to be all fancy and get photos of each and every artist here, I'm not even doing the usual concentrate on one artist thing here either. Instead I'm using a flyer to show off the night i'm going to on Friday and invite anyone and everyone to it. Bloody Beetroots have just released an amazing album but nonetheless I'm still glad they are returning to their old roots with Pinky Girl. The George Lenton remix is one of the first decent dubstep attempts on a Daft Punk... I'm going to stop now since the names beneath all need ZERO introduction anyway. They have a few new tunes out which I'm sure you will all enjoy. In fact I'm certain! So download em courtesy of good old Wonky.

The Toxic Avenger
A Scion powered EP has just been released featuring 5 of Toxic Avenger’s new tunes & 9 remixes by various electronic dance music luminaries (Ladytron, Acid Girls, BURNs. Designer Drugs, Ocelot, Switch, The Juan Maclean, Jakwob & Harvard Bass). The whole lot is DEFINITELY worth a listen, but enjoy the sampling I have for you here. Coming back to the scene with an absolute bang, Paris’ Simon Delacroix aka The Toxic Avenger has created a sort of album with the electro sound of two years ago still fresh, ahead of the game with immense technical abilty and thrashing synths. He is supposed to be insane live, so come over to ENGLAND!

Having saw this guy at Bestival (I really need to stop going on about Bestival to everyone, it was sick...get over it! Sorry i'm done now) I'm glad to have on offer a brank spanking new release which has already had Joe & Will Ask remix it up to synthy heaven. But the original is just as amazing, enjoy it and wait for the barrage of artists to start throwing the catchy chorus into their sets.

SonicC
This guy is ONLY 17 years old! Hailing from Miami he goes by the name of Sonic C. Producing for a year now, he started out wanting to make exclusive remixes his djing gigs, then like most people he slowly became addicted to creating quality tunes. His production work is very versatile. Stickin' has been getting some amazing support from a number of international artists. Despite the fact he is still tweeking a few different parts of the track, the track is already a feature in the sets of Laidback Luke, Crookers and Major Lazer and Kissy Sell Out has even decided to Klub it up and add it to his podcast. I recognised the track as soon as I downloaded it, definitely being played a lot by DJs at the minute.

Nadastrom
Bestival was fucking amazing! The lineup was ridiculously good and HUGE, I saw everyone I wanted to see and they all their sets killed it (Bloody Beetroots, Foamo and Raffertie were sick), the sun shone the whole time, everyone there was friendly and even appreciated my drunken calls into the night and food there was quality. It couldn't have been better! But now for my post - this recommendation comes straight from A1 Bassline, who I got the pleasure of meeting at Bestival. Quality bloke and a total joker! He includes this in some of his sets and for the cheesy drop in the middle (wait for it and you'll understand) it's definitely worthy.

Torro Torro
With a massive collection of originals and bootlegs it's finally time for this duo to let their sound out of the bag. Their remix of Barletta’s Panther is going to be be released on September 9th. But for now you have a collection of pounding synths, deep kicks, big buildups and are definitely ready to move the dancefloor. One of the future sounds of Toronto. There is a remix of Bulletproof by La Roux but I am so bored of that song I don't even want to include it!

Phonat
Michele Balduzzi (aka Phonat) is rapidly become one of the most talked about producers on the blogs this year. Originally from Florence, Italy, Phonat relocated to the UK on the request of MoFi records way back in 2007. He's currently making music which is in a league of it's own. 'Set Me Free', his latest release, is a brilliant track. First half is cool funky french house, but the second half of the track slips into something more glitchy electro, by all means it shouldn't work... but it does and pretty damn well at that!
Super Mal is simultaneously getting some big recognition. The British duo collabrated for the tune "Pixelated", obviously they should work together more often! His new release "Blood & Sun" has an obscure name, but I actually know the reasoning behind it...Apparently they found themselves in a local convenient store in London and (important part) were a bit baked. Waiting in line, they noticed an elegantly dressed old man demanding something the store owner did not have, and to everyone's surprise was so upset that he pompously slammed his fist on the counter in fury and shouted 'blood and sun!!!' Enjoy!

Leefest
I was at this yesterday, all profits went to charity so I felt all giving and good about myself, even though I'm pretty hungover right now! A1 Bassline was immense as usual. The festival is still young only 3 or 4 years old but is growing really quickly with this year being the first one outside of Lee's back garden and it even had a feature on the news. Anyways in keeping with the giving spirit I thought I would give you an irrelevant post of just some new music I like at the minute.

Justin Faust
Justin Faust is making some of the smoothest synthy-disco around these days… and he just tickled our inbox with some recent edits. Leeds-based Edwin Van Cleef’s I Want You is a strong original no doubt — so strong that i think Faust’s choice to moisten and lengthen it a bit serves it up as a nice complement — delivering it from the sweaty indoor floor to the outdoor breeze of a boat or rooftop party. Rondo Parisiano by the French baroque electro-stringers SomethingALaMode (out on Yellow Records soon) is re-crafted straight for the clubs; likewise with Swissland-based Division Kent’s Salty (released on If/Then Records).

Sidechains
Here we have on offer remixes of the 1990 track ‘Naked In the Rain’ by Blue Pearl and ‘Say It’ by Booty Luv. They are both flawless masterpieces that are just too damn sexy, in other words typical Sidechains productions. The arpeggio synths in ‘Say It’ are some of the most wonderful synths I heard in my life. Just cos of the Booty Luv in the title don't let that fool you, this remix is nothing like its overly cheesy original singers' usual productions.

TLGB
The Living Graham Bond (TLGB) won an AC Slater - Hello remix contest recently for having almost entirely altering the original to become a bouncy bassline stormer. Straaatch
Straaatch is stereoheroes’s half. I just received his latest tunes, some are out on idiot house, and some other on e.s.p records. It has the stereoheroes flavor with a little bonus. He sounds sort of like MSTRKRFT, Justice, and Teenage Bad Girl all rolled into one big ball and then mixed with some hip-hop beats, extra glitch, and a little dance floor fluff added in for added measure. He's got a solid sense of rhythm, and certainly the energy and vitality to back it all up.

BURNs
Recently featured in Mixmag you know Burns is an artist to keep an eye on. Perfect production from such a relatively new artist is astounding. Heartbeats is a steamy, brilliant-cut track with it’s dream-wave synth sweeps and a piercing guitar solos that is just TOO damn brilliant. It’s a bit choppy and fresh and when it starts firing on all cylinders, it's a true summer tune. Definitely been on repeat recently! Special Times!
I know i've been like a neglecting parent recently but i've been out celebrating nonstop enjoying my final days of Uni! Fuck! But i feel so bad about all the neglect i'm going to offer a pick-of-the-week style post before resuming normal service later.

The eXo
French house has taken kind of a back seat so far this year, but not for fault of not trying. Just has been overshadowed by the other many bright spots so far this year. Jean Moustache
Another masked DJ with a clear sense of humour just to name a song M.I.L.F. Paradise, i know i'm easily entertained. But don't be fooled, this is scientifically crafted excellent french electro/disco house. Like Louis La Roche did last year, Mr. Moustache has nailed it down in 2009 with this unsigned disco brilliance. Good Day!
Not for him but definitely for us! I can't post dedicated just to one artist, there is too good a haul today to promote only one!
First up the always brilliant THIS/Is have not failed with this new remix. If you've listened to W.H.S.L. (one of my favourite of all time incidentally) you can hear their distinctive sound straightaway. They have already also done an official remix for 'chillin' by wale and lady gaga, not out yet but waiting! One problem with them though is just not enough material, definitely going to be huge, I just haven't had anywhere near my fill yet.
Paradiso Girls - Patron Tequila (THIS/Is Remix)
This guy and this track don't need any introduction, Barletta does Jim Carey proud here with a filthy fidgety remix of the head-nodding anthem that is "What is love?". Damn it Barletta come to England!
Haddaway - What Is Love (Barletta Remix)
BIG club tune with a great vocal and lots of energy, archetypal of AC Slater. So gutted I missed him playing the other night but 2 days before an exam i'm destined to fail is just a huge accident waiting to happen.
Sepalot - Go Get It feat. Ladi6 (AC Slater Remix)
Sydney-based rapper Snob Scrilla joins in on the fun backed up with a custom production by bang gang 12-inches frontliners Bag Raiders, taking the rocket-fueled boy/girl-storytelling track 'Spaceship' up where it belongs! His album 'day one' should be somewhere out there and if he managed to keep up the level of 'Spaceship', it should be amazing.
Snob Scrilla - Spaceship (Prod. by Bag Raiders)
This one starts off just too damn pleasantly for you not to be smiling when listening, then at the drop erupts into a Hensforth electro-growl. You did good Hensforth!
RJD2 - Here's What's Left (Hensforth Remix)
Signed to Wearhouse Music Calvertron is just one of the talents added to their ranks. Their mission statement is that they are "where all things wonky and wrong rule the day". No wonder then that this label from the UK is on the rise and will not stop for any electro rave pop nonsense. Pure fidget and jackin house all the way. The future looks bright as well now that VR pals Dem Slackers just released 'The Joker' EP with Edu K and Lee Mortimer remixing and major upcoming releases from Zodiac Cartel with a remix by BILL EFFF!!! + Lars Moston & Philipe De Boyar 'So Sick'.
Chaka Khan - Feel For You (Calvertron Remix)

Funkagenda
Half of the collaboration that brought about last summer's anthem "Man With the Red Face". He has done brilliant work on "Raindrops", which is already amazing, being known as 'the return of Basement Jaxx'. It features vocals from the Jaxx's own Felix Buxton and is definitely in line for some BIG remixes. Funkagenda has got on it early and has successfully gone for big room, epic electro house throb, making full use of the bassline. I hear rumblings of a standard festival track.

Bit Funk
You can tell summer is comming with the more synthy styles used in tunes as the weather heats up. I think that the majority of stuff by this guy falls into this "summer" category, with proper arms-in-the-air-eyes-shut electro-disco. Its either that or maybe i just wanna put my hands up in the air for every good song I ever listen to...so i'm told. This is one of Canada’s most promising up-an-coming production talents. Combining the skills to incite funky dancefloor grooving with fidgety tracks drenched in neon synths and the ability to create beautiful dreamwave tunes, Bit Funk is bound to receive widespread acclaim and acknowledgement in the music world. Got a generous helping today in no particular order:
Bit Funk - A Question For You
Bit Funk - Things I Can't Remember
Bit Funk - Love Scientific
Caramello - Dangerous (Bit Funk Remix)
Busta Rhymes feat. T-Pain - Hustler's Anthem 09 (Bit Funk Remix)

Dexplicit
He is probably best known for the grime anthem that is Lethal Bizzle's track "POW". He has remixed tracks for the likes of Prodigy, M.I.A and was the winner of UK’s MOBO and SIDEWINDER Y2K awards, plus got awarded as the 2005 UMA Best Underground Producer. The tracks i'm offering hear are not pure grime like the majority of other stuff i've heard but instead will definitely satisfy any bassline cravings you're having.

Toecutter
“Best Party Ever” is a glitchy electro monster, cutting up samples with a drilling bassline and one of the most catchy choruses i’ve heard in a long time! Enjoy!

Jaimie Fanatic
Jamie Fanatic truly seemed to pop out on the scene from virtually nowhere, and he did so with one hell of a dancefloor monster in 'Whats happening to ya?'…(The breakdown at 2:20!). Definitely a BIG name. Even if you don’t know it yet, trust me, a huge name. He’s recently remixed Armand van Helden, Fatboy Slim, Audio Bullys, Princess Superstar.

Raffertie
His style is undoubtedly fresh and unique and he certainly knows how to get people raving. People say he is one of the kings of 'Super Wonk' and with his track 'Do That' (used on A-trak's fabriclive) its understandable why. Got a special something something in the form of a mixtape he did for Bigger Than Barry and just reading down the tracklist you know it's gonna be a good one! It blends some raw bassline, the wobbliest of dubstep and a cheeky bit of pop to great effect. See what you think!

Doorly
Doorly is involved in all sorts of things including Wax:on and the Afterparty in Huddersfield. Considering he was one of Pete Tong's upcoming 'in new DJ's we trust' picks, a remix of his combining Dizzee with a smattering of dubstep is always going to be worth a listen. He has even dubbed up what promises to be a bit of an anthem this summer with Don Diablo & Example's 'Hooligans'. Gutted I missed him in Sheffield last weekend!

Gigi Barocco
A quality artist I've found is Italian wonder-boy Gigi Barocco. His wobbles, twists, and vrooms are as good as any, and I can't get enough. He just released an excellent EP on Hervé's Cheap Thrills label, and I have the title track from that EP for guys. Also threw in a few other good ones from him.

Pirate Soundsystem
Hard to pigeonhole, but this duo have a definite old-school rave vibe. They're an eclectic blend of rave, breakbeat, 2-step, grime, ragga, electro, dubstep and booming ghetto tech. (And they often mention Happy Hardcore as an influence, but we'll pretend we didn't hear that). Pirate Soundsystem are not constricted by pretensions, they just want to produce music that makes you bounce, but still manage to perfect a progressive and experimental sound. But it is all about fun: about intense build ups; chirpy basslines; heavy beats; looped samples and monumental drops. After all, their myspace tag runs as: "Do You Like cliche samples?"
Si Begg - Non Stop Cut Paste (Pirate Soundsystem Remix)
Wiley - Wearing My Rolex (Pirate Soundsystem Bassline Mix)

The Deficient
French based producer, The Deficient (formerly known as nickY) produces heavy-based, big-sounding and overall well-produced tracks. Both Gigi Barocco’s and Stereoheroes tracks will be released on Crux records, so be sure to look out for ‘em! Keep an eye out for this fella, big things ahead for these tunes! Especially with the help of big names like Rico Tubbs giving his recognition. Loving everything he has done so far! As i'm writing this itunes very nicely randomly started playing Rowdy Jack, it's fate, unbelievably good track!!!

NROTB
Nu Ravers On The Block (or NROTB) are from Canada and currently stand as the origin of some damn fine electro party jams. They have a new EP out titled ‘Take me Upp’ and the thing stinks of cool and just so happens to have a Designer Drugs remix tucked into the mess. Apart from the usual stand outs you have on any EP I was surprised to hear lesser known Dro & Lodzy do what I can only describe as un-organised perfection.

Sound Of Stereo
Lately, I’ve really been loving the peoples that are Sound of Stereo. The Bloody Beetroots have streamlined this harsh synthed, headbanging electronic house sound (that was a mouthful…) and have paved the way for people like Mustard Pimp. Sound of Stereo seem to take the same path and have some really killer tracks.
In an interview with Electric Zoo, they commented on their original song, Heads Up.
Because when the break kicks in, everybody is like “woooooooo” and then when we are building the track up again everybody goes like “ooooooohhhhh” and when the climax kicks in everybody goes like “yeaahhhhhhh”.
Very oddly put but at the same time, how perfect! The bloody beetroots remix is fucking amazing!I think it's better than the original, in fact it's one of my top tunes at the minute
