Sentinels

This just came my way. Choppy female vocals, stuttering piano break downs, chiming synths, ...niiiiice! Sentinels are a production duo hailing from good old London town, inspired, they say, by "listening to a decade of pirate radio of London and the underground rave and dance scene that came before them". I whole-heartedly believe that I'm part of that rave scene (even though I'm on my way to becoming a "professional" at work) so thank you Sentinels for creating beautiful music for me and my "scene"

Bart B More

Anyone who releases a track called Brap is worthy of mention in my books. This club banger is immense in its own right and to have access to an acapella version? You will never NEED this, but do you WANT it? Oh hell yes, if not purely for the shits and giggles of the cat dying sound at around 1 minute mark.

Bart B More - Brap

Bart B More - Brapapella Had to include this!

Ellie Goulding - Salt Skin (Alex Metric Remix)

Deadmau5

Not much to say about this guy since he has got a bit ridonkuously big these days. Thus we should technically dislike the "mainstream" because well thats what cool people's society frustratingly dictates. But then how can you hate something that is so beautiful? The words Raise Your Weapon echo so perfectly...

Dada Life

I will NEVER tire of this duo. This is a filthy electro song (filthy not so much due to the music...I love double entendres). I can often get put off but overly stupid lyrics just to make people laugh, it can often just be tacky. But here, the track is so perfect and warrants its own merit that no matter how obsessed the singer is with "cookies", you've gotta love the growling synths and big room drops. Sick Tune!

Bonus, standard brilliance on both:

Afrojack

I will never get enough of Imogen Heap's mmm watcha say especially after this video (I know it's old but still funny as hell - oh and i defy you to try and find a proper version on youtube):

Nevertheless, with resonating Riverside beeps and squeaks, here, I think we have a winner!

Jason Deulo - Watcha Say (Afrojack Remix)

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Borgore Remix)
Don't be put off by the full file size this is 256kbps just a taster of a hopeful full release!

Marina And The Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot (Doorly Remix)
Not what you expect of this guy! Absolutely class track. I love the way the song progresses from being relatively unedited and a few impeccably timed robotic beeps later you have the unfaltering lines "let the beat drop"...tee up next track and perfect fade into filthy dub and you're away...

A Treat 4

Is it still a treat if it's the fourth one? Course it bloody well is if you listen to the tracks on offer. Got back from Snowbombing in Austria last week and it was absolutely mental! I was in that mess of a crowd above, which extended down the whol street! Hot weather, snow, drink, ker-razy fancy dress, drink, quality DJs, meeting a few famous heads, drink, roadtripping, street parties, forest parties, traditional Austria sausages, drink and just a tad more drink...what's not to love? Was on such a festival high, I've booked myself into Bestival and am scouring the internet to find the ideal European one (any suggestions?). Had to overhaul the internet to get all the music I missed over the 2 weeks I was away and in no particular order have found these very differing diamonds in the rough.

Edit: Removed the links for the tracks I think were infringing copyrights (since there is no way to find out specifics, I am reduced to hit and miss). Hope this is satisfactory.

Rico Tubbs - Dare
Volcano (Felix Cartal Remix)
Hey Champ - Cold Dust Girl
Jeuce - Flavour (Bare Noize Remix)
Mix Hell - Boom da (Killer On The Dancefloor Remix)
Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Cassette Club Remix)
Tom Sawyer - South American
The Bloody Beetroots - Domino
Blame Ft Ruff Sqwad - On My Own (Drumsound & Bassline Smith Vocal Remix)
Barletta - Whisper [Tommie Sunshine's Tribute To DJ AM Mix]
N-Joi - Anthem (TADT Remix)
B. Rich - Killin It
Unicorn Kid - Dreamcatcher
L.B.G. - As Good As My Love (Bart B More Secured Refix)
Urchins & Spoek - Tickets (Blatta & Inesha Remix)
Nero - Innocence

The Boog-A-Loo Crew

Two different sounds here, Crosses is understandably chilled, I don't think it could ever be right hyping the original up too much purely because it would take away all its beauty. The other... oh fuck it just enjoy! I'm feeling way too lazy right now...dubSTEP! Both quality tracks, obviously very sharp producers.

Subskrpt

No idea where Subskrpt has come from, his myspace is vague and all mysterious but damn it this is good! Quality remix and if this first track is anything to go by we can expect big things! Sorry for the minimal post info today, busy sorting myself out for my road trip/ snowbombing holiday!

DJ Slink

I'm loving this one as well, was going to put it as mere bonus track but that would be totally undermining how many times I have listened to this this weekend. Ask anyone who has entered my house/car/headphones recently. Don't let the hangover part of the title suggest that is track is anything but dub loveliness. Cudi's soft rhymes are perfectly juxtaposed betwixt dubstep, st-st-st stuttering drum beats and melodies. Nice!

TLGB

I can't actually get enough of this guy. This was my Bestival 09 song even though he wasnt there and no DJ played it (a mate played it non-stop). Nevertheless I FINALLY have my own copy of this bad boy, damn catchy! Enjoy!

Jeuce

Jeuce are a live electro/dubstep act based in Leeds, built up of four members and are part of the ever so brilliantly named Gash digital. Their new single 'Flavour' will be released in April, with remixes from Kidda, Bare Noize, Kanji Kinetic, Audiofun and more... Even though every fucker at the minute is remixing Ellie Golding and Crookers' Remedy, don't let that stop you downloading these. They are made up of bouncy synths and stuttering electro culminating in pure bassy dance perfection. The Ellie Golding remix is by far one of the best I've heard.

J. Rabbit

J. Rabbit, hailing from the Bronx, has me playing a couple of his tracks on repeat at the minute. Eiffel 65? Blue? Really? Honestly this is a VERY good remix. It has perfectly timed dubstep wobbles, kick drums so damn crisp your head immediately starts bobbing like the churchill dog and meanwhile the song is letting you know about the blue house with the blue window... PERFECTION. We also have B. Rich's dubheavy We Ball Harder which J Rabbit has actually made better than the original adding a more DnB feel. It's now just a waiting game for him to become big enough to come over to London and perform live for our ears.

TLGB

I was going to put this track as a bonus on another post but that would not be doing it any justice whatsoever. This is an OUTSTANDING remix. I will love this forever. Get this into your sets and ears NOW! Sounds like Jack Beats back in their heyday. Ooo maybe I've bigged it up too much? Now you won't want to make sweet love to it like I do. Fuck no back tracking now without hitting the backspace key... which I am not prepared to do just before I go out. Fuck man just download it!

Rico Tubbs

Old Skool beginning to the first track on offer sliding very sweetly into the duttiest of dub. Splash a few drops of beeps, squeeks and random samples of a soul singer warbling the words "let me tell you now" and what do you get? Hands in the air pure ear sex. The next one has Lil John (if not him his identical voice twin) in it and what the hell is not to love about him? Musically though Rico Tubbs production is tight, crank the bass up and get freaky.

Tonka

Piano break-downs are just sometimes so beautiful aren't they? Shame bloody Cascada and general shit dance music have taken them over. But don't be put off by this, there are no original killers here. This is Tonka's bass-ridden own. Anyone who gets Testimonials off of Steve Aoki, Shinichi Osawa, Laidback Luke, Judge Jules, 3 Is A Crowd, AC Slater, Rico Tubbs, Udachi, R!M!E!,Tommie Sunshine, Mighty Fools & DJ Rattus Rattus is without a doubt very very much worth a listen to our oh so humble ears. Get his EP out now

Bonus, we have a unique track here. DJ Jem has taken his favourite part of the Hangover and turned into B-more??? Not fantastic, but absolutely worth the listen if not only for the chance to hear about wolves running around the Vegas together:

DJ Jem - Strippers And Cocaine (The Hangover Mix)

On the other side we have something that possibly only good speakers will do true justice. I'm really liking Laidback Luke's style at the minute.

Disco Villains

Yeah it's Vanilla Ice, yeah you might be like me and be totally justified in being skeptical of just how good a remix of this can be. But god damn it, I like! Proper wonky goodness this. Now stop...collaborate and listen to this over and over again (ouch sorry for that I just had to take it). Noooooiiiice remix!

Bonus, not something so usual here from the boys but still a very unique and entertaining drop:

Tiesto

The King of big stadium trance has brought this out. It has catchy vocals sung by the brilliant Sneaky Sound System, pounding synths and topped with what Tiesto does oh so perfectly. I love this summery song and it made me slip on ice whilst doing my standard subtle dancing as I walked through London so I conclude it is well worth the download!

Last Japan

This guy is only 20!!! Ok maybe not as impressive as first seems, but trust me the tracks on offer have a productional wisdom to them that few young DJs can profess to owning. You can understand why he has had multiple releases on Southern Fried at the tender age of 20. His first solo outing ‘Jungle Warrior’ EP is out now and well worth the purchase. The Shystie remix is similar to Pon de Floor and no one is complaining because of it, but all tracks here will seemlessly fit into many fidgety sets. I love the Sugarhill Gang - Apache sample thrown into Jungle Warrior. HUGE TUNES...HUGE LOVE for this guy for creating EXACTLY the music I needed today.

B.E.A.utiful garage

Just really REALLY beautiful 2-step garage, especially the Kastle track which just whines it's way into being perfectly placed into a seduction scene from the movies. The Boog-A-Loo Crew have a more bassy vibe to their track but it is similarly gorgeous chilled music. I am nursing what is probably swine flu for the 2nd time at the minute, forgive my way too overly loving terms that are being thrown around in my blog posts at the minute, I think I am getting a bit delirious!

Johan Hugo

Johan Hugo is the producer/dj of Radioclit & of the newly successful band 'The Very Best...'. This track is nothing like any Radioclit I've ever heard, with it's anthemic upbeat synths pulsing throughout instead of the more electro-filthy connections we are used to. I can't give you much more information on this guy because as a single entity he is relatively new, but if this is the start then I'm looking forward to his individual progression within the world of dance.
